Senior Kelsey Long and junior Kaleigh Autzen (pictured) are members of the May Festival Youth Chorus which was selected for the holiday special along with choirs from Finneytown, Winton Woods, LaSalle and McAuley high schools.
The program will repeat at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 24 and at 8 p.m. on Christmas and will stream online at http://www.cetconnect.org/.
"Greater Cincinnati has a rich cultural heritage in choral music," said Lauren Hess, CET Arts projects Manager. "CET is excited to be able to showcase the strong choirs in our area's high schools that are carrying on this tradition."
The half-hour broadcast will include traditional selections such as "O Holy Night" and "The First Noel" as well as more contemporary selections such as "The Chanukah Song (We Are Lights)" by Stephen Schwartz and "Cradle Carol" by Ralph Vaughan Williams. The program will also feature video from area holiday displays to accompany the seasonal music.
