NRE nears fund-raising goal

New Richmond Elementary's Student Council is near its goal for its Pennies for Patients Campaign for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The campaign ends Friday when principal Gary Combs and teachers Connie Hammer, John Bagley and Julie Winkleman learn who gets a 'Pie in the Face' for raising the most money.

"Student Council has chosen Ajax Knoechel for their Honored Hero," said Joyce Montgomery, Literacy Lab Coordinator/Librarian Assistant at NRE. "Our school goal is to raise at least $1,000 which will be donated to the LLS in Ajax's name along with New Richmond Elementary."
