Locust Corner teacher Kathy Wilson was honored at the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce’s Salute to Leaders Banquet which honored non-elected individuals or organizations that made a major contribution to the quality of life in Clermont County in 2013.

Ms. Wilson was nominated by the Pierce Township Trustees for her service with the READ program at LCE. She founded Locust Corner’s reading dog program in 2007 and organizes several community members who bring their therapy dogs to weekly reading sessions with Locust Corner’s K-3 grade students.

“These group members also come to all three of our Family Literacy Nights,” noted LCE teacher Erin Parker. “Ms. Wilson's program started with her star reading dog, Gator and many of the other members and their dogs were present to honor Ms. Wilson.”
